Ethiopia MOTRI, ECAE Officials Visit Cotecna Dubai and Wimpey Laboratories

Cotecna Dubai was pleased to host a visiting Ethiopian delegation. The visiting officials included Eyasu Simeon the Branch Offices Coordination Lead Executive Officer at MOTRI (Ministry of Trade & Regional Integration). As well as ECAE (Ethiopian Conformity Assessment Enterprise) representatives Mulugeta Mehari the Quality Management Director and Birhanu Teka the Finance and Supplies Directorate Director.

The delegation visited the Cotecna offices as part of an audited process. Cotecna is a proud partner of the Ethiopian government authorized to issue Certificates of Conformity for regulated products exported to Ethiopia. This includes the mandatory certification of Stand Alone Solar (SAS) products launched earlier this year.

In addition, Cotecna offers a voluntary Certificate of Conformity for other Ethiopia regulated products like electricals and textiles. Voluntary certification helps expedite customs clearance while reducing the risk of goods being denied entry into Ethiopia.

The delegation audited the Cotecna certification process covering technical processes and a physical warehouse inspection. In addition, the officials toured the Wimpey Laboratories facility in Dubai. Wimpey Laboratories is part of the Cotecna group and one of the largest private laboratories in the Middle East.

The visit also afforded Cotecna and the Ethiopian government an opportunity to discuss areas of future collaboration.
