The Ethiopia Stand Alone Solar Programme is now fully operational
The Ethiopia Stand Alone Solar conformity assessment programme is now fully operational and Cotecna is already issuing SAS Certificate of Conformity.
We are pleased to announce that the Ethiopia mandatory Pre-Export Verification of Conformity programme for Stand Alone Solar (SAS) products is now fully operational.
Cotecna was mandated to issues SAS Certificates of Conformity after signing an agreement with the Ethiopia Ministry of Trade and Industry and the Ethiopian Conformity Assessment Enterprise (ECAE) in September 2021. In addition, Cotecna hosted a SAS training seminar in partnership with ECAE earlier this year.
Of note, the SAS Conformity assessment process uses three levels of compliance or "routes". Cotecna will designate the appropriate compliance route based on the exporter’s profile. In addition, Cotecna will only issue a Certificate of Conformity after a physical inspection, sampling and testing of products at ISO 17025 accredited laboratories as required.
